Description
Description
The G8P-series desk grommet power is designed to provide all the power and connectivity needs in modern offices. It fits inside a standard Ø80mm cable porthole of your desk, offering a mains socket, 2x USB chargers, and one interchangeable keystone module (HDMI, or RJ45, or USB C, or USB A).
Fast USB A + USB C Chargers
Each G8P-series desk grommet power comes with 1x USB A and 1x USB C charging ports. The USB A charging port features QC3.0 fast charging technology, capable of charging compatible phones/ tablets up to 4 times faster than normal chargers. The USB C charging port features USB-PD (Power Delivery). When a compatible device is connected, the charger will continuously communicate with compatible devices to negotiate the appropriate voltage and current level during the full charging circle. This offers more efficient charging and better lifespan protection than conventional chargers which can only charge at constant voltage and current. All ports can output the following voltage/current combinations: 5V max 3A, 9V max 2A, and 12V max 1.5A.
Interchangeable Keystone Modules*
The G8P-series desktop power also features an interchangeable keystone module port. You can choose between the following keystone modules: HDMI, RJ45, USB C, and USB A. If you are wondering what is a keystone module? A keystone module is a small connector with female ports on both ends so it can join/connect two cables together. The obvious usage is to extend the cable length, but more importantly, it offers quick and convenient access to your network (or USB data, or HDMI AV). For example, you might have a network socket next to the wall, and you use a network cable to connect that socket to the RJ45 keystone (fitted inside the grommet power), so now you have the network port on your desktop, saving the trouble of bending down and fumbling with the plug.
For modern open-plan offices offering hot desking, facility managers would like to have different connections for different workstations. For example, some workstations are equipped with RJ45 ethernet ports to access the office network, while others with HDMI AV ports so it is easy to cast your laptop screen to a projector or large display.
*This power module comes with an HDMI keystone ONLY as standard. Selecting the option with the Extra RJ45 Port (Ethernet) you'll get BOTH HDMI & RJ45 PORT KEYSTONES
